East Brighton Golf Club

East Brighton Golf Club is situated 2 miles from the city centre and yet it is a true downland course with spectacular South Downs and coastal views.

It is a venue steeped in tradition and character. It was first formed in 1893 and in 1908 the renowned golf architect James Braid redesigned the course to basically as it is seen today. The course represents both a genuine and fair challenge to golfers of all handicaps. From the 12th tee which is the highest point on the course there are spectacular views of the English Channel from Beachy Head to Selsey Bill. The course is 5,616 yards and par 74 from the red tees. The individual holes have delightful and intriguing names including Kestrel’s Haunt and The Grinder. Watch out for the downhill par 5 5th hole which is outstanding

It has a well established golf academy with indoor nets and a simulated golf facility. There is also a small driving range and putting green. Ladies, this is a great club to start learning or tuning up your skills.

The Pro Shop is worth a visit as prices are very competitive and there is a comprehensive club repair service.

At the end of a game or practice session, why not have a drink and a meal in the historic clubhouse built in 1905 which provides a most comfortable and relaxing environment. It includes the Oak Lounge, a superb oak panelled room, the 19th bar as well as a restaurant seating up to 60. A little bit of retail therapy is always fun or perhaps a visit to the world famous Brighton Pavilion or a stroll along the front.
