Piltdown Golf Club

The Lady Golfer Club is  delighted to welcome Piltdown Golf Club.

Piltdown was formed in 1904 on Piltdown Common close to the home of the legendary hoax that was the Piltdown Man. The charming clubhouse is a listed building and dates from the 18th Century and it has not lost its simple style or its atmosphere despite many recent improvements to modernise the facilities.

Piltdown is a friendly and welcoming golf club with a beautiful and natural course, which has no bunkers, but is blessed with an abundance of heather and gorse. It is an unusually flat course which offers an easy but picturesque walk with the added advantage of various starting points.  For ladies who prefer a less challenging course, there is the opportunity of playing the shortened ‘Henry Longhurst’ course from the Blue Tees which make the fairways more accessible. It is also adaptable to playing 9 holes of golf.

The club has a thriving Ladies Section and there are regular competitions throughout the year. Every day of the week to accommodate working ladies. There are also regular mixed competitions, which are very popular and a comprehensive programme of social events.

Visitors are positively encouraged to visit Piltdown where a warm welcome and excellent dining facilities are guaranteed.

The course plays 5,295 yards from the Red Tees and is Par 72 and 4,966 yards from the Blue tees.
