Test Valley Golf Club
Test Valley Golf Club prides itself on having excellent playing conditions whatever the weather and whatever the time of year. It is known as the "course that never closes".
It is a downland 18 hole course founded in 1992 and meanders through undulating and picturesque Hampshire countryside. The course was designed by John Wright and European Tour Veteran Eamon Darcy. It measures 5,558 yards from the red tees and is par 72. There are also blue tees which are ideal for beginners and seniors with this course measuring 5,132 yards. Watch out for the riveted links style bunkers on the 3rd and 7th holes and the water features. The two loops of 9 return to the clubhouse. A warm welcome is standard and golfers of all abilities are welcomed. It is a highly accessible golf course and frequently welcomes visitors from London, Reading, Oxford, Bath and Southampton.
The club features a Golf Academy with a 10 bay Driving range, chipping area and putting green. The clubhouse offers full catering facilities and is both comfortable and spacious. It has an excellent Sunday carvery.
The Pro shop has recently been revamped and is stocked with the latest ranges from top brands. Customised fitting is available.
Basingstoke dates back to Roman times and has a rich heritage. It is well worth a visit as is the nearby Stratfield Saye House which offers an intriguing insight into the life of Great Duke of Wellington. Golf and a little bit of history – perfect!
